Oh heck, I'm feeling so inadequate here...every year I tell myself I'm going to be organised and every year I'm scratching my head come December trying to think what to get everyone! Think I may just hibernate for the month!

Don't feel too bad Jay.....this is the first time ever I've done all the pressies before December!
It'll probably feel weird as it approaches the Great Day that I'm not panicking!....no doubt I'll pick up a few stocking fillers ( for me!) nearer the time
I'll probably end up impulse buying food we don't need.....but this year I'm going to try and keep my sensible hat on there too!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Yup! Wot she said!
I have to buy for my Folks, but the In-Laws always say 'no presents' which I ignore, because they do! This year they have given us a Pork Box, which is fab. Well, apart from having to defrost the freezer at short notice, last Saturday, but hey-ho, it's all done now.

I don't do many christmas cards and those that I do I make my own...I hate the fact that Christmas stuff in shops cost an arm and a leg! I love giving homemade gifts. Chillies, chutneys oils etc aren't too expensive to make and everyone that comes near gets at least one (whether they want it or not) I make mini Xmas puddings wrapped in calico, small fruit cakes for the oldies on their own. I'm a keen flower arranger and give christmas wreaths, candle and flower arrangements to those that I feel need something and I'm not sure what to give, school teachers etc. My sons piano teacher is in his mid 20's, I always give him a little extra but this year was his first Christmas with his wife, he was talking about starting a veg plot - so he had seeds It doesn't need to cost a huge amount but it's lovely to receive a gift and I love making it all.

I'm down to about 20 cards now to post- we used to write nearly 200
I find it more fun to send an Xmas related piccie by email and phone people up for a natter ( we have free International calls! )

Good evening, well I managed to make a meal using the slower cooker. Not burnt anything haha. Going to have a relaxing night in front of the TV with a few vodkas. I am going to the Manchester Christmas markets tomorrow with my friend. We go every year. How are you lot tonight?
Vodka anyone?Carrie

Evening all
following the sterling efforts of NVG and others we made a trip to the shops and purchased most of the hamper bits for the Trussel Trust.
Did anyone bag a Black Friday bargain?Last edited by Greenleaves; 28-11-2014, 06:00 PM.
