My black car was white with frost this morning, and the leather seats were cold!
Glad we're starting to get the light back now though, so at least I can have half an hour outside kicking tubs about when I get back of an evening .... assuming it's not too cold that is. Have just ordered another 15x 1.5l pots, 10x 20l pots and 2 x 50 litre tubs for the inbound plants. My wallet isn't happy with me
Noticing the longer days here too.
Yesterday evening I was able to walk round our soggy bit of land with a friend....at 6.30pm!!!
Still very dark here in the mornings which makes getting out of bed hard.

I really struggle with that. I have one of the artificial sunrise alarm clocks, plus a SAD light which kicks in on a timer too. Has made a big difference for me this year
Aaahh, the joys of retirement No longer governed by the clock, just the sun...........
But I'm forgetting my manners..........Good morning All. Was there a frost? I may have slept through it..........
Ooh ooh - some of you may think I have lost the plot but I have just seen a pair of sparrows in my garden. It is ages since I saw any sparrows round here. The bird feeders may be expensive to keep topped up but I think it is worth it.
Sparrows cheeping was the sound of summer growing up, but then they all disappeared. We have them here and I got my knuckles rapped on an expat forum for saying how nice it was to hear them when someone was complaining that they pinched her hanging basket liners for nest material. My suggestion that she should enjoy the company of an increasingly rare bird went down like a lead fart.
Lashing with rain and blowing an absolute hooley here. We have a mate staying and he and Mr PP have gone up the mountain to ski. It is a blizzard up there and most of the lifts are shut. Mr PP will not be happy I suspect they will be having a very long lunch!
Dry bread back here
Keeping off the coffee at the moment, so camomile anyone?
Blowing a bit of a hooly here as well and cooled off a lot TG. Cleaned the fridges out today and they got a scrubbing. Did a few loads of washing, and cooked some pizza's for tea.
Son is cleaning and painting the hallway. Some cupboard cleaning tomorrow I think. And if it stays cooler some rock collecting in the front hilly paddock.
I am just going to water the herbs and fruit trees, and maybe the pumpkin plant (yes, only one!) There's some talk of the wet stuff next w/e but I"m not holding my breath. Can't really afford to use water on the garden, there's not much water in the river, and we'll have nothing to wash if it doesn't rain soon. Dams are starting to get very low, so might need to bring up the old bathtubs from the bottom paddocks to water the horses soon. Never had to do that before, although it's got close once.
Swap you for some rain?
Edited to add: Hope all the blood test results were good Jules.
Some days it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints!
One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French

Just back from a walk in the park with Rosie. We met an amazing dog - a cross between a German Shepherd and an Irish Wolfhound - it was huuuge and looked a bit like a wookie!
Aaaaaaarternooooooon Peeps. Cold and dry here, but we've had some drizzle. Dogs are lounging around in the garden, and the Chooks have finally decided that they like their climbing frame; just looked out and it's almost full of fluffed-up Chooks. Funny fings, Chooks!
Chum came and collected her nutty Dog around nine last night, and told her I'd given him some tea. She thanked me, in an off-hand kind of way, and left. Weird, I thought, She's not like that, usually. Anyway, I got in the car this morning with my Art stuff, moved my rubbish bag off the passenger seat, and there was her Dog's tea in a bag. D'oh! I iz a Pillock.
I really really should be doing some cleaning; you get a bright day like this and it highlights the ruddy dust and dog hair.
