I'm wondering if there will be much left after tonight! The roof has gone, I've kept the door shut... Not sure if that's the right thing to do????

I don't think there is a right or a wrong thing to do in these conditions........all you can do is keep fingers crossed. At least you made it home safely after walking the dog.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Well its right thing to do when the green house has all its panes, once a few have blown out the door isnt going to make much difference, photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html

Sorry to hear about the tree Sally, but here i am praying the wind will blow down the huge sycamore that shades my garden. Maybe tonight would be a good night to saw it down and tell the tree conservation officer I had to saw it up because it blew down and was an obstruction.photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html

Up early to survey the land. Wind 4 trees 0. All four trees are now residing in two of my neighbours back gardens. I feel so bad for them as we got away with a couple of broken fences I think. If I were them I wouldn't know where to start. Would live yo upload photo, but ipad app won't do it.
Hope all is well for everyone elseNannys make memories

Its been the worst night I have witnessed since we came to torquay in 1996, I genuinley thought our windows were going to blow in, they are big victorian sash windows and the glass isnt that strong. At times is sounded like they were being hit by airborne cattle. The rain has been phenominal. But my polcarb and poly tunnel are holding on in there.photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html

What a dreadful night, and it is still continuing, wind, rain and hail like I've heard, really scary, then I heard dripping water , and thought rain was pouring in, got up around 3.30 to investigate, bathroom tap had been left on.
If it eases at some point will try and go see what damage to Plot, will the fruit cage have survived, but the storm isn't easing.
Our plans to go out for day have been postponed until tomorrow due to train disruption and storm.DottyR

Morning all. I hope you are all keeping safe and sound. Must get ready to go to Cov for Shakespeare. Prospect of not being able to park George in the busy car park irks me a little. Even when going to the bullring I try to get in early.
Still very windy out; but with sunshine.

Morning.
It sounds as though it was really bad last night with the storm. I'm glad everyone is ok! Take care if you venture out today. When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
