It is indeed bright and sunny out there. I have a south facing garden minus the four 50+ foot conifers that fell down in the winds. I cannot tell you how bright it is now they're gone, my crops have now got day round sun wherever they are in my garden. Not always a good idea, best invest in a new garden hose set I think

We only lost the top half of our 50 ft conifer and the house inside is already a lot brighter!

Nicos, thats what responsible tree owners do. These conifers have been slowly dying for the last five years. A little but of tlc and they would have still been growing. The owners are not even answering their doors, so my neighbours have had to sort this out without them. Summer just gone, another neighbour felled their cherry tree. Birds have no trees in our immediate vicinity now and our view now includes a block of flats. Not good. I should be on the rant thread lol
Morning all - it was a glorious morning yesterday, bright but dry and cold. And I was in no fit state to do anything useful. Fell over at work on Friday and banged my ribs ... so sore. And so Saturday night went to neighbours for supper and had quite a lot of 'medicinal' red wine. Big mistake!! But at least I slept
Today, grey, damp but milder. I shall not be going to the plot, some planting in pots I think. My first lot of seeds - baby plum tomatoes and indoor cukes have sprouted (saved seed as well ) so I am inspired. Have a good day all.
Morning all - we're back to gloom and rain forecast for the rest of the day here.
The plan calls for a run at lunchtime too, but apart from getting wet (which I don't mind too much), I ache like mad from a long run yesterday. Could go for a swim instead maybe.
Meantime, my in-tray is getting to an unstable height, so there's work to be done...
Oh - I didn't see Jules over the weekend on here - hope she's ok. Any of you facebookers seen her over there?
Morning Grapeworld Back to the rain here too - not the wind though, thank goodness.
Hazel, Jules has been on FB - she's "apron-ing"
Not much to report from the Funny Farm - just ticking over nicely - waiting for spring to jump out from behind a bush and surprise me
Have a good day everyone
My JBA taters arrived just after lunchtime so Rosie and I had to have an extra long walk to make up for staying in all morning - we are both tired out now!
First day of half term so it's catching up with domestic chores that don't get done in term time. I have defrosted both freezers and cleaned the windows, inside and out. You know windows are dirty when you have to really scrub them to get them clean.
Dry and cloudy today after what was a lovely warm and sunny day yesterday. Seemed to be a post winter reunion up at the allotment as lots of people out of hibernation. Spent time spreading manure and tracking down a missing cloche.
Evening All. Cleaned a window frame and 3 doors, polished and hoovered, cleaned out 3 cupboards and a drawer. Phew. What day off? Your afternoon sounds lovely Bren. Weather seems to have quietened down a bit. Having said that, it's just started to rain again.
Evening All I've had a thoroughly day - this morning spent in the attic getting thoroughly dirty and cobwebbed. This afternoon in the garden digging out brambles in the rain and getting thoroughly wet - but at least it washed off some of the cobwebs This evening, I'm throroughly tired and hungry...........better sort out the hunger before I fall asleep..................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
