  • Find anything interesting in the attic Chick? I must admit, I found some thoroughly uninteresting stuff in the drawer I cleaned out, most of it rubbish.

    • Interesting?.............debatable A big sheet of perspex that may make a lid for a cold frame, some empty cardboard boxes for mulch. plastic water carriers for liquid manure, maybe? And a stack of letters that I wrote to my parents from Oz 40+ years ago. Can't bring myself to read them though - nor can I throw them away Like a lot of the clutter up there, too many memories to bin them. One day, maybe.

Have they gone through their insurance company so they can claim the money back.
No, if there is any outbuildings or house damage then the insurers will accept the claim. No damage, apart from fences (including ours) and they will definitely not pay for removal of trees. I would have made a hole in the garage roof lol

        • I've been in VC's attic and can vouch for the cardboard boxes, they mainly once contained wine I might add!!!

          Evening peeps!!

Today my dog had me laughing, he was out in the garden playing in the rain when he startled my smallest chicken Daisy, who had flown her run to wander round the rest of the garden and go for a dustbath in the greenhouse. He started to run towards her and did his normal puppy antics crouching low hopping up and down, until she turned and ran at him. he fled into the house terrified. She barely reaches his armpit for pity sake....

          • I had to get rid of those soggy boxes Mikey - next time I'll put the wine in bottles
I remember my dog chasing the chooks and being cornered by them, they jumped on his back and pecked him and all he did was cower and squeak. He never chased them again.

            • I like having a delve in the attic, I always find my flowing locks are fuller and have a glossy sheen afterwards.

              • I'll read the letter for you VC!

Glad to hear you lot are not paddling around as much today.

Our ground is still slightly damp which is fantastic. I will drop by the river on the way home this aft and check if it's up a bit as well - hope so.

I made some purchases on ebay and horsey sites last week, so hoping they have all turned up At least some of them should have. The nag's red bridle should be here - he'll love that! And maybe his red and black western style saddle cloth. Will be good if my landline phone that will tak and make txts is there too.
Picked up the saddle after repairs yesterday. All ready to go. Harry.......I say Haaaarrrrryyyyyy! Where's that darn horse gone?

And there's a faint tinge of green in the paddocks! The garden should perk up a bit now too - bit late to grow much.

                  • Morning and as usual I'm sharing Flo's weather

There's nothing in our attic since we topped up the insulation a couple of years ago so it looks like a duvet up there.

I've also not felt the need to light the fire as soon as I get up...just goes to show how chilling those winds have been.
