Oh no, Feral and VC - losing pets is awful. I bet the others will miss Lily too, VC. . I can't really say anything that won't sound mawkish - but hugs to all who need them.

Sorry too to hear the bad news VC and Lottie...
Run went well for a change, back home and beside the fire now...
May have a glass of red later...I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
...utterly nutterly

No, Jeanie, Lily was the one I've had about 6 months, the one in the front of this photo, in bed with Rosie with the "eyes". I've known for about a month that it was terminal but its not been easy.
Thanks everyone for your kind messages. I didn't intend saying anything as I'd rather share happiness than grief.Attached Files

Sorry to hear it VC, I can't see them suffer tho. Was just thinking yesterday about some of the funny things the two oldies had got up to over the years.
One of them is the one in the photo with the chooks. She was a sweety when she felt like it and horse with pms when she didn't. The appy is missing his tailgaiting friend, they'd just partnered up, and with all the flies the old thoroughbred was trying to get the appy to swish his tail to keep them off his face. The tail is about 6 inches long
The other boys are still looking for them which is really the saddest thing now. They will get over it, but they keep checking out the far paddocks in case they see them. I think it's really nice for them to have a chance to be herd animals in the paddock rather than on their own all the time. Interesting watching them putting each other in their placeAli

Ow bless her Lily was happy with you VC while she was there - she really fell on all 4 paws as she had two lovely sisters to look after her and an unbeatable Mummy.
I treated myself to oven baked scampi and chips tonight (I'm only a red meat veggie) but I had the heck pestered out of me by cat and dog - cat wanted half the scampi and the dog fancied the chips and tartare sauce. Luckily I was able to mostly fight them off!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Dog is now luxuriating on the rug - she should be in her crate by now- but she has her new toy fox and her old toy dog tucked up with her - you gotta love a creature who loves her teddies!
Just to let you all know, without Veggiechicken and her help, me and Rosie would have never happened. And life for me would have been the same old grind without a big helping of Spaniel joy!Last edited by Jeanied; 17-01-2014, 11:59 PM.Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Back to hospital today, the site of my angiogram (wrist) has swollen and I have a rash running up my arm. Went to the doc yesterday and he could find no pulse in my wrist. Luckily its my right side and Im I am left handed so I will still be able to write if my hand drops off. The surgeon wants to see it this morning there maybe a clot in the artery Theres certainly a big clot outside the artery.photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html

Morning all - I have been up for about half an hour but it's taken me that long to catch up with all your 'goings-on'. It's a bit like watching a good serial CUE VOICEOVER - "Previously on ....."
I cannot believe how quickly this week has gone by. I am properly back in the groove now, almost like I have never been away from work I think that's a good thing.
I must get to the lottie this weekend, tomorrow is looking promising, but it is soooo wet underfoot. I managed to get there last weekend and spread cardboard on 5 beds on the veggie plot ( a very nice young man from Halfords was incredibly helpful and I can now go and help myself to their excess whenever I want!!), so a little foray there again and some more cardboard down on the new strawberry bed on the fruit plot!
OH is doing really well despite not being able to drive or indeed drink very much. We went to the pub last night for the first time in WEEKS and both really enjoyed 1 pint each. So restrained. Hobgoblin, Hazel. It's a lovely beer. And I've lost 2 pounds in weight. I enjoyed being at home for a while and my domestic 'goddess-ness' (is that a real word?) but it is awfully bad for the waistline!
Have a good day all.Last edited by susieq100; 18-01-2014, 08:17 AM.
