Got the second skim of the cake done; it now looks like a solid rectangle of chocolate! Just got to try it again, when the ganache is set enough to get the top level. I would like the corners to be sharper, but you can't have everything first time around.
Thinking of chili con carne for supper - 'tas gorn awful cold here, although pretty out.

Had planned a quiet night last night and was just about to put a match to the fire, when we were asked out to dinner..
Which led to beers afterwards resulting in a tired head this morning...
Then off to the cinema this afternoon to see the second Hobbit movie.. Very enjoyable..

This is a triple layer sponge cake, with the most beautiful ganache finish - lovely crisp edges and the corners are as sharp as I can get them, ready for me to fondant ice it. Why am I making a fuss? Because I've never done it before and, even though I say it myself, I've done a bloomin' good job!

Thank you all, it's been a few weeks of waiting and hoping that everything would be confirmed. Didn't get an awful of info, and I still don't have a timetable Proposes to be quite stress in getting things on the road. Though I need to decide whether I shall be driving there or taking the train.
