I'll be off out with the dogs in a little while. Just put my gloves on the radiator to warm up. Wish I had a welly warmer. I sometimes use Mrs snuffer's hair drier to warm the wellies but if she catches me I get in trouble. Mind you the worst thing she caught me doing was cleaning my Mantis tiller tines in the dishwasher. Seemed a good idea at the time.
We haven't had frost either. Clear this morning, the tide took the fog away yesterday and it didn't return. Depending which window you look out of, it's either cloudy, blue or blue & cloudy. Grey down Channel but could just be heading for Bristle.
Chores are done. Coffee is made. I'm just debating the best way to do the next step of the caaake. First step is to warm all the different colour fondants and knead them together to make woodgrain - reckon I can manage that easily But.....do I then cut out a panel just big enough to cover the top of the cake, cut out the speaker design and then add the side panels, or do I do it in a oner? I think it will need to be the first idea - the problem with doing it in a oner is that it's heavy, and could stretch, and it will need to be smoothed down all over for proper finish. Once I've used the smoother it will adhere to the ivory layer applied yesterday and it'll be danged difficult to get the pieces that need to be cut out, off......
Sorry, as you were........I'm just muttering to myself, here. Coffee?

Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?

HH, write down all the things/words/thoughts/colours/ feelings that are running through your head, then chill out for half an hour and see if that helps.
Thanks, Dorothy. Just been fed, that has helped a little. Doesn't help that I've set myself a mountain to do. Need to take it slowly and do one thing at a time. Might plug away at a little bit to hand in at least something tonight. All in spirit of betterment!

Had an early morning trip to the hospital with Mum as she's having complications with her last eye op. We were there yesterday afternoon too and have to go back on Thursday. I'd forgotten how heavy commuter traffic can be - this morning's 8.30 appointment was a nightmare. As long as they can sort it, it'll be worth it...................
No frost but sun this morning but its drizzling now. Orf out again - catch you all later..........
Had a FHS meeting in the library this morning continuing the indexing of the Library backroom documents - nearly there - two more should complete it.
Filthy cold wet weather here today so lottie is getting a miss.
Eldest grandson has a project on Robert Burns so I dug out a couple of books I have on his life and passed them on to my daughter to get him started - there is an open day at Alloway this Sunday where he can pick up some more info. and even dress up as they did back then - sounds like fun so I may go along

Give yourself a 'counselling type' talking to, set some achievable aims and goals, then you'll feel a bit better, some days you just can't get yourself motivated.
Right. Just had a a real 'moment' with The Cake. I made the woodgrain fondant (looks good) rolled out enough to just cover the top of the cake on a piece of baking paper. I then cut out the stencil in reverse. The heart-stopping moment (I'm still shaking) was flipping it over, still attached to the baking paper, onto the top of the cake. It had to be absolutely exact. With the BH's help, I've done it!!!
Now, I need to do the sides, the decorative shaped panels and then glaze it. BUT I have done the worst and most worrying bit. I tell you, I had to go for a wee and a coffee in that order. Phew!!!!!
