  • Evening all!

It's a relief to pass that MOM crown over to Trip, I can tell you - being on my best behaviour for a month is darn tricky!

I'm sure the cats will be helter skelter home soon, Jules - after my moan about the lack of accuracy on forecasts this morning, it has blown a right old hooly this evening. Oliver cat who's quite 'outdoorsy' said 'sod that for a game of soldiers' and will now like as not take a tinkle on mat by the front door.

I can see why he's not keen to go out - once he's gone through the cat flap, norty Domino sits on the mat inside to 'gatekeep' to stop Oli coming back in. Little b*gger. Domino says 'whatever' to the weather - but at least he uses the tray.

Bins, if you're going to be out, please keep an eye on my cats? Ta!

                • I'd have thought it'd be a great opportunity for a company to produce some fun looking, lightweight, waterproof clothing...something like a rain mac or plastic head cover but more trendy looking that the sort of thing my granny used to wear back in the '50s?????

Tis too windy for a brolly and peeps don't always want warm and waterproof......just something to throw over your clothes to make the dash from carpark to supermarket.

I've seen those see through ponchos ...anyone aware of anything else available?

                    • Mooooooooooooooornin' Peeps! Dry here but wet underfoot, and more bleugh to follow.

Nickers, I have watterproofs. Cheap, breathable over-trousers from R€g@tt@, they do jackets, too. A bit like the old Kagool things, that fold down into a small bag. Very useful, and about £12 for each item. They're also windproof, which is fab it weather like we're having at the moment, as it's amazing how much warmer they keep you.

I have a Mary Quant poncho in bright patchwork colours - given to me decades ago. I wore it a couple of times and nearly took off in the wind, wings flapping like a demented old bat.............now I don't need to wear the poncho
Also have the R3g@tt@ things like G4 but rarely wear the trousers - I'd rather be wet than rustle as I walk

                                Waterproof knickers ..... sounds uncomfortable

I have used the waterproof overtrousers for hillwalking, and they are only marginally less irritating than having your trousers soaked I do have them, and do use them, but I am soooo glad to take 'em off again
