G'Moooooooooornin' Peeps. Hope you're all well!? I had to get up twice in the night, as Osc decided he was scared of the noise outside, and wanted to go out and investigate. I let him out, he looked up and down the garden, and came back in. Once at just after midnight, when the power went off, and again at around half two.
The roof is still on the Chook-house, as we remembered to screw it on when we moved it. It has shifted in the past, despite being very heavy. Their wind-breaks are suffering greatly, but all the Chooks seem worried about is their grub!
Oh, and the old Caravan on the drive, was two feet forward this morning, despite having the legs down and a flat tyre on the jockey-wheel!

Well, it was a relentlessly noisy night; the wind howling and screaming, the police going past the village with sirens screaming every ten minutes (probably to the motorway or for rescue purposes) I haven't heard about any local damage yet but, in that wind, I'm sure there must be some.
Looking blue/grey patchy out there just now, and still very windy.
Coffee?Jules
Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?

calm and warmish here this morning!
However......
I thought it looked brighter in the bedroom when I woke up...Snow perchance????...nope....
the top half of a tree is down in the garden!
Funny thing is that we are both thrilled as we've been discussing for over 3 years about lopping the top- but it was a 50 ft Xmas tree planted out about 30 years ago and we'd of had to get a tree surgeon in to do it.
Worrying thing was that we have a trellis work with plants growing up it disguising the 3 compost bins, a fence, a small garden shed and 3 small fruit trees and the potager all within 15 ft of the base...and you'd never guess...it fell into a gap between the trees and the potager and absolutely nothing is damaged!!
...so, job done by Nature, no damage and a lighter house and garden..... just can't believe our luck!!!!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Afternoon all. Just back from a jolly to see a cafe we heard good reports on. Was lovely. Small, cosy and good homebakes with a nice selection of "different" stuff. Not keen on the second coffee which reminded me of cigars and ash . Came home with multiseeded black crispbread... yum.
I still think my scones are better though
Good news about the tree Nicos! Hope everyone else is having a good day. When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Just emailed a pic to a chum, to see if it bears any resemblance to the actual Dog in question, to be told it's too neat and tidy, could I 'rough-it-up-a-bit' please, as he was a really scruffy little s*d! Made me laugh, although, it would help greatly if the picture I have to work from could be enlarged... That old saying about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear, springs to mind!
Still, it's keeping me busy, and in the warm and dry!Last edited by Glutton4...; 15-02-2014, 02:02 PM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

Afternoon all. Spot of lunch and relaxation before the evenings performance. Rather like collecting Shakespeare won't take me long before I get through them all. So far, we have as you like it, hamlet and Richard II. Pencilled in, are the two Henry vi's, king Lear, and twelfth might. Didn't get to see comedy of errors this week, forget I was at counselling and the ticket went to a loving home. Hoping to see loves labours lost and won in the winter. If anyone sees any more plays advertised in my locale lemme know other than lotmenteering, one of the few things I likes.
