  • Morning! It has just started to drizzle here - hope it doesn't last as I have loads of digging to do on the plot.

Dog seems to have got the hang of the dog flap at last! It has only taken 7 months. Well, more accurately it took one day of it being held open with duct tape for her to get used to popping through the gap, and this morning she decided she could push the flap open all by herself.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

    • Morning, more than drizzle here, positively raining. Sort of good because the garden needs it, but bad because I have a kids cup final to do and the rain may make them call it off

      • Yes. Nannysally - the cat has just let me know it is raining properly now - she gets extra cuddly when she is wet!

          • Morning all - overcast here but not actually raining yet. Vat of carrot, lentil and coriander soup on the go (lunches for the week) and younger son still snoring in bed. He doesn't live here, but came and stopped overnight as I was feeling very emotionally fragile yesterday. OH is still in hospital, still in a medically induced coma, still very, very poorly. This is now the beginning of the 6th week! It's hard to stay positive. On the plus side, I am going to be a grandma - in October!! Yay - first grandchild

            • Oh dear, Susieq, this must be tough for you. Glad you have family who can rally round. And a grandchild to look forward to! Keep putting one foot in front of the other and try and do something nice for yourself every day.

              • It's raining here today so I will be catching up on my blog a bit and also starting off some more seeds. This latter is a challenge - Mrs H wants her kitchen patio doors back so there's nowhere to put the trays and pots!

Aha! Actually not, although I did use a gravel tray as a litter tray with Domino cat when he was little, he soon outgrew it (he would put all his feet in the tray, but still ended up not using the tray, if you see what I mean. )

The litter tray now is the size of a skip. It's a bit posh with a lid and a cat flap door to go in and out. Well, it had a cat flap door - that broke one day when the cats were playing a stupid game, one in the tray and one outside bashing the door from either side.

                      • Thinking of you Susie and what wonderful news to give your OH when he's awake, congratulations. Family all gone now, so I can start clearing up and do a bit of potting if the rain holds off. I've made chicken liver pate and decided it's easier and probably cheaper, to buy it!

                        • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarternooooooooooooon Peeps. Hope you're all well? Hope your Hubby is healing whilst he's 'under' SusieQ, and congrats on the baby news!

I've been out to do Horsey chores, and then met up with chums and went for a wander round the local Cross Country event, and watched all the little kids whizzing round on Thelwell-esque ponies. Great fun. Had a burger at the van too - as you do...

Back now to do battle with internet hosts, and try to find a free one that is actually free. Coffee?

                            • I'm on the red too Flo Think I deserve it after taking 2 of the little helpers to the allotment this afternoon.

We (I) weeded out the strawberry patch, they dug up the rest of the carrots and prima donna is now busily scrubbing them for me. Trouble is she keeps dropping them and the dog keeps nicking them
