Yesterday I made my own sqaure trelises (Trelli?), covered all three with 12mm mesh and attached them to a wall with the intention of growing my sweet peas up them. Today I planted said sweet peas, took me all afternoon. On returning to the GH there on the staging were my sweet peas!!!! I have gone and planted my hurst eating peas by mistake. My trellis is 6ft high and hurst only grow to 3ft 6" so they will look bloody silly and if I pull them up I have nowhere to put them until I get the area they were intended for ready. This could have gone in minor rants or what I did today but it is a major rant and it is what I didnt do properly today.

What about cutting your trellis in half - then it will be the right height for your peas.
Or, attach a trough halfway up the trellis and grow another row of peas

Going to an organised cattle market, so bricking it. No idea what to expect and have no high hopes with a reserve price of threecamelsandagoat. Am absolutely petrified! Sat here in my dress and heels, clock watching. Don't want to get there to early. Going as a gang of three. Going to be an acid test!

Well dog and I have had a good day - two visits to the lottie and I managed to do about 2 hours work in all. Planted up 24 shallots, a dozen or so lettuces donated by a fellow lottie holder, finished off another bed ready for spuds - only one more bed to go and I have the big spud planting done - panic over for a few days

Dog loves the lottie and gets all excited when we arrive on site. To her it is as good as a walk- even though she is tethered on a long line all the time.

Been busy at the lottie again this afternoon. More digging, and planted a row of maincrop spuds. Need to save the rest for the littlest helpers to plant when they come home on Monday.

Went and been. Was an interesting experience. Mostly a Meh experience. Was ready to go at ten, but persuaded by the wing person, so there with a white wine spritzer-as you do-and had a rather interesting conversation that was the highlight of the evening.
