That would be interesting Greenleaves, dry or wet ?? When I can get to it I'll look in my "overseas" tackle box & find the hook size we used in Portugal for mullet in the estuary.

I spent a couple of happy hours with my neighbour, identifying shrubs and working out the pruning routine - then disregarding instructions and hacking back so she has room to walk down the path I took Rosie as well, to be company for her Springer- he spent a lot of time telling her who is boss and an equal amount of time trying to give her licky kisses - she was more interested in snail hunting in the undergrowth. It would be nice if these two got on and behaved well together - I might stand a chance of going out occasionally knowing she was with another friendly dog - sitter
Happy to say she doesn't need walkies this evening - she is pooped!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Evening - jammin'! I wish OH could have some strawberries - he is still nil by mouth. However, the staff will certainly be offered the fruits of my (and the allotment manager's) labours. Experimenting with strawberry and lemon jam and rhuberry.

Manage to dodge the huge crowd rushing to play bingo in the lounge bar.....honestly never realised it was so popular.
As a consequence I have the bar to myself including the bowls of nuts.
Had a chuckle with an old local who said he had pop in for his medicine (Whiskey and soda) but had told the wife he was walking the dog

Sounds like you both had a good day, Jeanie.
I've got my own pruning dilemma - the red and blackcurrant bushes are out of control! Need to post a pic on here and ask how to go about it.
I really do need to remember when I'm on my bike that there is a limit to how much I can carry!
By the time I had put in the basket or strapped down on the carrier on the back rhubarb, potatoes, french beans, broad beans, peas a huge tub of rasps/red/blackcurrants (with a lid -I'd thought ahead a bit!), the Sunday paper, 6 eggs and a pat of butter AND a bunch of sweet peas, there was only just room for me, and it was a slow and steady journey home.
Met new allotment neighbours which was nice. Richard and Eve. Must try to remember their names for next time I see them!

I was told I had beginners luck when I was the first to get a line, but the atmosphere cooled rather when I got the whole card too. I collected my 70 euro winnings and crept off past a sea of stony faces and black looks.
