Morning all!! Nice and sunny here........
Used up a load of tomatoes last night making passata, and am going to make some more to store later...
If peeps are freezing it in freezer bags or similar, what do they generally do after they lightly boil up the sauce??
I have been putting them on a tray with onions, herbs etc and roasting them, then light boiling..Do I need to do any more with them before freezing ?
I put mine through a sieve after roastingTrip to make a smooth passata, up to you really
Morning All and a special Bore da to GL for when he arrives in Wales! Don't forget to wave when you're in Cardiff I'll be watching out for you!
Another soooper sunshiny day here and I'm spending the morning taking my Mum to have her toenails clipped Wonder if they'd do the dog's claws at the same time?
Hope you all have a smiley day, however you spend it
When I went through Cardiff today they was this little lady waving furiously at the train.......VC?

I made a load on Sunday, just roasted the toms with a little olive oil, basil and a sprinkling of salt n sugar, when soft 'blitzed them' with hand blender, then put it into sterilised jars, which I then 'boiled' in saucepan for few mins, then store in cupboard. Haven't done this before, so don't know how long will keep. Used one last night, just gently heated up in saucepan, served with pasta, delicious.

For passata I put mine through the Kenwood sieve so i get a smooth sauce, then sometimes I freeze the toms without sieving to have on toast. They taste really good
Yep - it's me, quiet all day, and orf to bed in a mo, but I can't leave you without telling you the 'official' race details, the 'actual' race time, nearest guess, and a couple of pics.
Grumbles all round that the clock started at 10am when the race was supposed to start, but the hooter went 20-odd seconds later; and there was no taking into account that the clock was ticking away before those of us further back in the 800 strong field got across the start line.
Further grumbles that all those with gps stopwatches (i.e. most 'proper' runners) reckon that the distance was 10.2km not 10km. Part of the issue here is that the course we ran, was not the course as published, and the deviation took in a WHACKING GREAT HILL that made the hilly course even more so.
So apart from the organisers not having accuracy in either (a) distance or (b) time, it was very well organised.
Adjusting for the above, I ran the 10k hilly course in ............ 64:09. Nanny Sally was the closest guess - have yourself a donut!
Here's a pic of me looking chipper at half way...
...and the the end in sight (taken the day before)...
...and nearly there (taken the day before)...
...and nearly dead stumbling over the finish line - note my co-ordinating face/T combo.
...and once I had realised I was not dead, with my big bro.
Thanks for cheering me on, folks - much appreciated. Next one is the Kingsbury 10k cross country at the end of November...........
Well done Hazel - you look like you enjoyed it (Nutter! ) I didn't guess at your time, but I had a doughnut anyway! Two actually, as Hubby came home with them, and plonked them in front of me, the rotter. That certainly messed up yesterday's calorie intake.
Coffee?

Morning all! Sunshine here, and warm, and looking out from behind the desk, Domino is already in situ on the bench.
The washing will be ready to put out in a bit, and I'm glad I was bothered to put the ingredients in the breadmaker last night as I've had fresh bread for brekkers - yum.
There's some knuckling down to be done - so have a good day all, and I'll catch ya laters!
