I finished digging the entire plot this morning

Will return tomorrow, to remove roots and clumps of grass, should hopefully be plain sailing then.....

            Thank all.

I dug half of it up mid week, and yes I did the other half this morning.

My back is absolutely fine at the moment. I am quite used to manual labour.

It might not be so fine in the morning though?! As I do get an achey back sometimes....

Yes I will be having a few beers now, whilst making mulligatawny soup.

THe soil is very light and easy to work with.

I will not be rotavating it, when I can do it so easily by hand...

I will post another pic tomorrow, as it should really start to look good then!!!!!!!

We removed pretty much all the weeds and clods of grass this morning.

It is looking pretty good now.

Next weekend, I will lightly fork over, and pick up any more weeds/roots that I find.

Lovely to see an allotment from the beginning!

Good digging session that!! I'd be moaning and groaning, and aching! lol

I am incredibly angry though that there you are in south wales..which I imagine can be pretty damp!?
Heres me with a soggy water-logged cant get on to dig allotment less than 1 mile (as the crow flies) from 'the driest place in Britain' ITS NOT FAIR!

                      keep the pics coming!

                          pathways

here is this mornings progress, we started on the path, but then ran out of membrane!!!

Woodchip seemed the way to go, as is free and easy to do.

I got the scaffold boards for free, and got the sparky's in work to cut me up some 20mm galv conduit into 600mm lengths for the stakes

I am pleased with it so far...

We can always change to slabs if need be....

Wont be working at the allotment next weekend, as I am away fishing

Starting to really take shape now. Me and a mate plumbed these 3 water butts in this morning, and gave it another really good digging over, and raking.

It is almost ready for planting time!!!!
