So it's a perennial, doesn't flower till it's six years old, and then it dies. So just exactly when do you get to eat the carrot root? If you eat it before it flowers then you get no seeds, and if you leave it to flower, presumably there won't be much root left.

Or maybe as it tastes "insipid when cooked" you want to grow it purely for its size, and because it sounds like a right fussy bu@@er to grow you want the challenge too.
