That's great news, and I bet Oscar likes the new menu

Another cheap way to give a bit of raw, or should I say thaw, is fozen minced tripe - thawed out! It smells vile but the dogs love it and it's really good for them - not too rich.

Actually that's not bad: Raw tripe mince for your dog. Simply fresh meat | Natures Menu

Only 95p more than the fresh offal I get from the butcher. I'll look out for it locally

My lovely Butcher gave me half a carrier bag of 'meat' this afternoon; six chicken carcasses, a big fat heart, that someone had forgotten to collect, two kidneys that were the size of a pat of butter, each, and about 3lb of Liver. (Yeah, I'm good at weights and measures! ) Happy Dawgs!

It may seem silly but are you putting him out last thing at night? We have our Cavaliers for over 30 years and rarely have wet/dirty beds. They always sleep in crates and usually you will find that unless they are ill or left for very long periods (not just overnight) they will not dirty their own beds. Try not letting him drink after a reasonable hour - say 2 hours before bedtime, put him out or even put his lead on and give him a short walk before bed and praise like crazy when he empties himself. To save a little on washing, make a waterproof cover for his bed (look in charity shops for waterproof bed coverings) and then make a towelling/sheet cover to go over the waterproof one and then if the worst happens you only have the top cover to wash. If it carries on, woud check with the vet to make sure there is no urine infection.

I transferred my dog to a raw food diet yesterday, and I can already see some changes. His movements are firmer and less frequent, he was going 4-6 times on a walk and the last 2-3 were slurry. He's been going twice and they are firm and not green!!!.

When I looked into the costs it was actually a lot closer than I expected. The kibble brands range from around £25 to £40, and work out at between £1.70 and £2.85 a kilo. You can buy everyday frozen chicken portions for £1.75 a kilo in T@@@o, and Chicken Breast for £3.99 a kilo, they do prepared frozen livers for 50p for 225g. I have eggs a plenty with the chickens and there is a surprising amount of other items that get trimmed off our meals, fat and skin off meat which in essense are free, because I wouldn't have fed him them before.

I'm sure in time I will become better at sourcing produce aswell as his diet becomes more varied, but I'm certainly no worse off on raw than I was on kibble.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

All I can suggest for now is give the dog a handful of dry food, I assume its extruded rather than flake, and don't let the dog drink.
My gut feeling is the dog being a pubescent teenager is not emptying himself fully, have you put your hand into the urine to see if its warm.
Could the dog possibly hear you moving about and the sheer excitement becomes to much?
I had a dog who would drink her bowl dry just to fill her belly, as my dogs are kennelled outside it wasn't a problem. but when we went away in the van I had to restrict her intake, but she was clean in the cage, she'll still foul the run, but she's fine when we are away.
