Oh if only it was just the piano Kristen!!, she plays the recorder in school as she too would like to play the flute!!!, I've been reliably informed by SWMBO that the piano is not going in my office like the keyboard but is instead taking pride of place in the lounge. What do I know!!!

I'm off now to take nipper to try out the local piano, I'll let you all know how I get on.

In the living room,?!!Then the minute you sit down for five mins peace they come to entertain you! It's lovely though as Kristen said when they can play well enough to have a sing song! My boy plays the piano, clarinet, classical guitar, electric guitar and steel pans. The other one plays the drums! Is there any wonder I spend all my time in the garden?

Fingers crossed it a good one, it took us a good six months to find one.

and when you get your piano home , give it time to settle and adjust to its new surroundings before getting it tuned ...
my piano moved house with me 4 times before it went to a new owner .....and I can assure you it was chuffin heavy ..actually I sort of miss it ..
S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

When we moved, my OH piano had to come too (his Dad paid a tenner for it !) we moved it using planks and skateboards! It did my son proud for several years until the Piano tuner said it wasn't worth tuning it.....we had to have it skipped

One reason for moving to this house was that it had space for the grand piano.
It didn't like the heating here though and kept going out of tune. The Piano tuner, a funny little man, with thick glasses, who always wore the same long mac whatever the weather, was crawling around under the piano, checking for problems with the frame and asked me to have a look at summat too. So the 2 of us were on our hands and knees under the piano when my husband came home from work for lunch. The tuner hurriedly tried to stand up and hit his head on the piano and set several strings a-twanging Needless to say I just laughed!!

Well I went to look at it, but it was a no I'm afraid.

It was out of tune which they had said, but it had been quite a few years since it had been last tuned and two of the sharp keys moved but made no sound at all. The piano tuner advised us not to bother as it would cost too much to sort out.

                The search continues....

I found a JB & sons grand piano in perfect working order being given away yesterday, all because they couldn't get anyone to buy it and transport it down the 4 flights of stairs!!!

I tell you, if you live in a top floor flat a grand piano must be a real bind!!

I saw a programme a while ago, about a man who turned scrap into pieces of furniture. He took a scrapped piano and turned it into a writing desk. I can't remember the programme it was on one of those obscure channels like quest.

'The salvager', that's what it was called. I like him, he's good.
