  • Plaster cast blues

Some of you may know that I had an op last month I had my cast off today pictures below

This is it once my kids got to it killed an afternoon in recent weather

But my delight was short lived when I was told after X-rays I need another 6 weeks

At least the plaster room know me I just let them do whatever they wanted and my kids love my new one

What have people done to pass time in the past I have planned my plot bought my seeds and even sown leeks and chillies I've been picking up on a learn welsh cd but really am fed up of seeing for walls now

Oh dear Darcy, that's a shame. Was it due to the bent screw?.........6 weeks will fly pal.

Partly, my op is a complicated one and the bent screw didn't help!

It's the joining of two bones they have almost knitted but not quite topped of with a bent dislodged screw my surgeon wants to take it slow trouble is I absolutely hate slow

Oh well something to look forward to at the end of this cast is RHS Cardiff and my birthday kill two stones with one bird or something along those lines so may treat myself if I can walk by then

Ha! I vividly remember drawing a hare in long grass on my Dads cast when I was a teen, very proud of myself at the time!

Ouch DVQ - that reminds me of when my sister fell down a staircase and broke her ankle - she had to have a plate and pins put in to mend it - referred to in the family as a 'Barry Sheene' job.

She had a funny get well card from a colleague saying 'not like you, plastered after a fall!'
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Well, Darcy, if you have to be incapacitated, better over the winter when there's not much going on in the garden. Another 6 weeks and it will be Spring! Trust you'll be fighting fit by then

Tough break Darcy... but as others have said, the weeks will fly by and this is the time ( if any is!!!) to endure it... Chin up...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

                          ...utterly nutterly

The new cast seems to have been put on wrong and causing a few problems since Friday looks like another trip to hospital tomorrow
