$3 Newpaper Pot Maker | Simply Flagstaff
I used some pipe we had laying around, then for the 'Dome Slip Cap' I pushed a piece of wood inside the smaller of the two pieces of pipe just to seal the end.Last edited by Bren In Pots; 02-03-2014, 10:08 AM.Location....East Midlands.

I have one of the little wooden former things and I make loads every year - must have done thousands by now since I bought it. They're absolutely fab, I sow all my tomatoes, chillies, peppers, aubergines etc in them every year. They are only small so don't need much compost, I can fit loads in the heated propogator and free (after the initial cost of the former which was a gift) as I just use our free paper cut into strips. They also have the advantage that I can pot on really easily, sow a single seed per pot and then put the whole pot into a 3" plastic pot without any root disturbance and the newspaper breaks down nicely, much better than those horrible fibre pots.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I used to use paper pots for all my seeds. I have built up a supply of pots so don't make as many as I used to but still find they have there uses particularly when not wanting to disturb the roots. You can get some mould but hasn't seemed to have effected me much.

I use an aerosol can too. Those wooden things I see in the garden centre and not tall enough for me - mostly I use paper pots for things that don't like being transplanted, and I want deep pots for them (Parsnips, Sweetcorn and Sweetpeas). Blinking expensive to buy too!
£18.95 - they are having a larf, surely?!
