Had to leave my poorly cat Sebbie at the vets this morning...
He is 12 and in good health but has something in his throat. thought it would be an in/out job but they had to knock him out to take a look, so I had to leave him
    I don't like it....at all
I know he is just a cat,
I have come to work, trying to do my best to be happy and chearful on reception.
I can pick the old boy up at 5:20pm tonight...counting time!!!!
sorry to go on, just need to tell someone, it's a bit lonely in here on my own all day, maybe 1 or 2 visitors during the day, if I am lucky

    Chin Up Headfry!

I'm sure Sebbie will be fine, give him lots of cuddles when you pick him up and he will be purring away in no time.

Let us know how he's doing.

    Best wishes
    Bex

          Poor Sebbie, and poor you!

He is not "just" a cat - he is your friend and companion...
I'd be so worried if one of my animals was in the vets, no matter how small the issue.

Make sure you have something nice for him to eat and a warm cushion when he gets back!

It won't be long til you get Sebbie back, Headfry, but I know it's awful when you have to leave them at the vet. At least you have your friends on the Vine to talk to. Let's know when he's home safe and well.

I've never had a cat but I have had (and have recently acquired another due to a crash landing in my garden) birds, cockatiels and budgies in our case. You say, 'only a cat' but our pets are part of our family. We invest lots of love in them - and usually get some back - not sure if birds are bright enough however!
Tea time will soon come and you'll really appreciate the grand re-union!

              Love,

              Flum

Poor puss and poor you. It is so awful when pets are not well but good for you for noticing. Hope you are both over it soon.

thanks OWG and Alice, Flummery and Shirl. I'm a baby...... it does not help working on your own all day when your mind is somewhat distracted! time passes slowly and the imagination runs riot.
                  roll on 5:20pm!
Flummery, birds do love- I am sure.
I adore birds too. Kissed a tawny owl the other week....they smell so nice, soft and warm and smelling of hay! lush
                  I want my cat back!

Half way there now Headfry, not long to go until you are reunited. My cat (Moggs) is fine now thank you - she had a stomach upset and lost a lot of her stomach lining - we think a neighbour fed her out of date salmon a couple of times. It was a very worrying time but cats are very resiliant and she pulled through. I'm sure Sebbie will as well, he'll be so happy to see you later.

Hi Headfry, I know it's pointless to tell you not to worry as of course you're going to - but there's nothing more you can do, leave it in the hands of the experts and go and buy some treats for Sebbie for when he returns to you feeling a bit frail! Hope it all goes well.
