  • Seedling Objections

I'm just curious if anyone else suffers from this terrible affliction, seedling objection. When one's OH, refuses to allow them to be scattered around the houses windowsills.

I'm permitted the sills in the utility which will take 4 elongated trays, and some space on the worktop, however with one proviso I've had to seal my trays inside plastic bags so that no bugs may escape and no fly may be attracted.

Oh the joys of a non gardening OH, they simply don't understand, its too cold to be in the greenhouse yet.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I get told off as our terraced house is tiny with small windows. Can't say it stops me though!

I find the greenhouse makes it worse Bren.....

I start things off in the house then they progress to the greenhouse, I have neither enough room or pots for either.

The window sills he doesn't notice, when the seedlings get larger and I have them on shelving in front of the bay window, he mentions it. When it's just that little bit chilly for them to stay in the GH overnight and the dining room floor is covered in long greenhouse trays, he has a little moan..
But then again he uses my living room for repairing his bike!!

One of the few benefits of being single, my 9 year has no objections to seedlings taking over every windowsill x

No objections here at all although he does get very nervous if I'm away for a few days and he is left in charge of watering

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

My kids object to their stuff being moved off their windowsills. But then compete to see who has managed to grow something first! (I do it!) I do clean their window sills once I've moved them all though and put all their stuff back. I can't see what they're moaning about!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!

I build shelving using book stacks and planks to house my little dahlings. OH objects strenuously. I use beer and chocolate as bribes.

Showed my OH your bicycle problem and he said it was fine, it's "art". Mind you, our tandem lived in the front room when we were first married. Quite useful for drying ones smalls on!
My seedlings are on no1 son's bed. He's not complained as he's at uni.
