Thought I'd join in and set myself up a blog having seen (and admired) some of the blogs from here.

It's a good tool for keeping a log (funnily enough!) of what you've done, but it also allows me to show all my friends what I'm up too.

My latest post shows my poorly courgettes. Do you think they'll pull round?

Nice looking plot HeyWayne. Thanks for the look. Your courgettes may well be fine. Curcubits are always a bit of a worry, but mostly they get on fine. The weather in May has been such rubbish that I've been fretting over mine but they seem to be doing OK. Just wish the sun would shine. That would perk everybody up.

As to the courgettes, I'm having similar worries over my cucumbers. They looked fine then several are starting to look wilty and sick. Keeping fingers (and eyes!) crossed. Funny but I only wanted a couple. I sowed 6 just in case and all 6 came. Now, if I only end up with the couple I originally wanted, I'll feel really fiddled!

Courgettes are second only to triffids in their will to take over the world, I plant them, ignore them and still get enough to sink a ship, after a nuclear blast i'm sure they would still be the only thing surviving, I haven't planted any this year as they have squated in my compost heap...!

Finally got my pda to bring up your pics...nice plot...if your that organised I can't see you having many problems mate.
Butternuts are ace, even the kids will eat them, and they are third only to triffids ...bla bla. I don't get too uptight about my growing and allways get more than I need.
I am a firm believer in pushing the boundaries though for a bit more excitement, keep your allotmenting extreem.

Thanks for the comments people, very encouraging.

You'll see that I have now started to fence in the plot - posts are up, all I need to do now is wait for delivery of the chicken wire. Once that's up I'll feel a lot more in control of the plot and hopefully find it a little easier to keep on top of.

I must say, having another pair of hands (Dad) is really helpful. Working on your own is really slow and disheartening. Cheers Dad.
