Had to go to local tip yesterday and was so surprised what I saw.
To start off with we have an outside cupboard where the tumbler and various bits are kept. Turns out we have had a cat living in there for a few days. So you can imagine what we found. So we stripped it out cleaned it and threw various little fury dead bodies away.
So trip one to the tip saw the usual rubbish but also one broke compost bin. A big one not one of those diddy ones.
Second trip I saw another two bins, nothing wrong with them, and a woman throwing a new one away which was in pieces. She told the tip guy she couldn't be bothered with it anymore. It still had the price label on it.
I would of asked her for it but when she threw it in they were already crushing it.
Seems the grow your own phase is well over for some people now. Such a waste too as I'm sure they could of asked a local school if they'd of wanted them.
