When vegetarians friends come here and I go out of my way to make them a vegetarian "option". None of them have ever served me meat when I go to theirs ...
My daughter, who is a vegetarian, has often remarked on that trait of her fellow veggies (some of whom are not great cooks, no more than some meat-eaters).

I'm vegetarian and wouldn't cook meat for someone simply because I have no idea how to cook it and would probably mess it up.

I can understand that. People who do not eat animal flesh do it for a variety of reasons and IMO it would be extreme bad manners to expect them to throw their principles and feelings on the matter out of the window simply to assuage the desires of visiting meat eaters. If you are invited to a meal you have the opportunity to refuse the invitation.

No prob. Here's our weeks dinner menu:

Today - chicken & polenta with cherry tomatoes.
          Monday - chickpea tagine
Tuesday - pizza (home made inc bases (able and cole have a quick base recipe - but flat bread recipes work equally as well))
Wednesday - broccoli and mushroom risotto
          Thursday - Spanish tortilla
          Friday - chicken jambalaya

Each Of those above has at least two servings of veg in - if it's a bit lacking (like today's meal) then a side salad can be had too (trick to salads is don't just use lettuce - mix it up a bit. Onions, cukes and toms, with a dressing one day, next perhaps mixed leaves with a boiled egg and radish, etc!)

Dessert tends to be fruit based - with yoghurt etc, occasionally ice cream and bought in things.

The lowest "serving" wise would be today's meal but that's 3 with a salad and dessert being 4 (straws & raspberries w/ natural yoghurt).

Breakfast I had bacon and egg sarnies apple and banana earlier and I'm up to if not over 5.

As others say really it's more of being balanced in what you eat.

I've drastically cut down on meat lately using veg as a bulking agent.

ie when making bolognaise use half the meat and twice as much veg I've tried to do this for a few reasons

            1. Add more nutrition to my diet and the family.
            2. Save a little cash.
            3. To try and aid recovery from my op.

I feel great within myself for it too
