I've just got my first wasp sting in years. I was up the plot, planting onion sets and put my hand down to steady myself only to feel a sharp sting in my left palm. At first I thought I'd leant on a nettle or thistle but when I looked at my hand there was a wasp attached to my palm. I shook it off but it's still nippy over an hour later, thankfully I'm not allergic so I just spread Germolene on it when I got back to work.
The wasp was quite big so could it be a newly emerged queen looking for a place to nest?
