I wear a hat in summer. So far this year it's sat on a nail in my shed but I expect I'll have to get it down next month.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I suppose there is a difference in sunbathing and working in the sun, the constant movement probably distributes the the suns rays more when you're working. i have to admit on a hot day when i am not working you will find my under the apple tree. I am simply incapable of just sunbathing, seems a terrible waste of time.
I dont suppose sitting in the glare of a computer screen has many health benefits either.Last edited by Bill HH; 20-04-2014, 09:30 AM.photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html

This is a good reason to grow aloe Vera if you can. A little too much sun and just split open the leaves ( are they called leaves? Doesn't seem right) and rub them all over the affected area. Did this regularly when I was living in Japan and it was instant relief and the following day all my skin was fine. It's also natural and far cheaper than the over priced, chemical filled *rap you buy in the shops.

Be warned.....went hatless/ kept forgetting to re-apply cream last year, now have to have treatment for damaged skin (benign, but not a good idea) so now am using a lotion bought on Internet that you only have to apply once, sun factor 50. My daughter has fair skin and used it safely in Tuscany.......I find it hard to keep a hat on so it's great for me!
Don't know if I can name the product......around £11 but not so expensive when you consider you only apply it once a day! Try googling.......will post a separate reply and see if it gets through screening!

Spring to autumn = sunhat, suncream, anti mossie stuff, trousers tucked into socks. I'm in a forest clearing and its midge and tick central here! But it does get very hot, last three weeks its been sunny and 18c - 22c every day, though down to -1 at night. Today? Rain! First for weeks.

by Marb67I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
Ps, why when I upload an image do I get...1 PhotoToday, 01:40 PM
