So sad We had an arson attack on our site a few weeks ago, 4 sheds and their contents razed to the ground.

That's truly horrible. I find it hard to get my head round the nastiness of people sometimes. Mindless idiots.

I'm so sorry john. I'm not usually a violent person but I'd happily whack whoever did this with the hardest end of a spade and not think twice about it.

Thanks everyone, Police have some CCTV images and the petrol can that was found on site so maybe.....

Ive just come back from the plot, had gone down to start clearing up but couldn't get into it although I did salvage about 9 barrows of homemade compost.

Parish council have arranged for a skip which arrived whilst I was there so will make a start in the morning.

Have just had an email from Premier polytunnels saying our new tunnel will arrive tomorrow so hopefully we get cleared up, draw some type of line under it all and move on (and hope the new tunnel doesn't get got!)

Good to hear you are starting to rebuild JJ - and also good to hear the police are investigating. We had vandals and thieves on our site and they weren't interested. These days I just leave my shed unlocked and nothing too valuable in there. So the dog chews whatever tools I have in the car when I drive to the lottie Can't win

Awful news johnjohn, but you seem to be staying calm and philosophical about it. I'd be raging around with a sharpened pitchfork....Good for you in letting the anger go and moving on.
It seems some folk just like to see things burn. I think sometimes they don't even realize the damage they are causing, or the cost of it, certainly they have no idea of the stress they cause.

Yep- you have to move on, and I have to say I am impressed the police are involved.

Maybe alert the local newspaper? don't know if the arsonists will puff with pride or the extra awareness might help prevent future episodes???

How awful. We've had similar things happen at our site, the police are helpful but never hopeful of catching anyone. They told us that if people come with the intention of stealing but can't get in because of locked sheds etc, that they just burn everything down - it's a "of I can't steal it, you're not going to have it either" mentality, very sad.
