    When I first went in a pub bitter were a bob in the bar and snug and one and a penny in the lounge and gents only

      well I was guessing, I just know it was silly cheap. However I would never buy a pint in the gents God knows where it comes from.

        The gents only bars were just about going out when I started to frequent pubs. But I was watching an ITV program the other night about how things have changed whilst they have been around and they showed a news piece shot in a men's only bar in the early 60s.

                    When you scan 200 tv channels and not a single one is of interest to you.I remember when we had only one channel and watched it all the time.

                      When you see people on TV shows spending a huge amount of money to buy everyday items you used in the 50's and 60's, because they are 'design classics', when in reality they were cheap items then and are still cheap tat now.
