    2 - 1 That was a good start!

Have never agreed with playing players out of position, nor full backs that want to be wingers.

I hope Roy can pull things around. I like Roy Hodgson. He is a gentleman and an honourable man, and alas that is pretty rare in the world of football these days.

Fair result I thought. They played well but not well enough. Hope they can sort that left side out for the other 2 group games.

Think Thursdays match will be like a chess game, neither side can afford to lose

If I can keep my eyes open, I'm looking forward to seeing Messi grace the big stage.

Argentina (and Barcelona during the normal season ), they've potentially got the biggest stars in their team so should be a good performance but I'm too tired after last night so off to bed in a minute for an early night as work again tomorrow

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Bit unlucky I thought BM, but agree about that left side. Rooney's job is to go forward not defend, so either they need to put him in a position he can play, or leave him out for someone who can play left side. Don't try and shoehorn players into positions they're not comfortable with, just because they're good in other positions.

Don't get too happy. Everyone I have spoken too said Argentina were pretty poor.

Holland and Italy both look very good.

Looking forward to seeing what Germany and Belgium have to offer.

Yes, but the early front runners seldom win the cup. It's a question of starting slow then building up to a grand finale.

I still think it'll be either Brazil or Argentina though ...

I thought Argentina were quite average last night, got bored so missed Messi's goal. However, looking forward to Germany v Portugal tonight.

I don't suppose England will win the World Cup, but I would love them to get to the next round. I got really cheesed off with experts predicting an early exit. I like the present squad and looking forward to giving one of these teams a good hammering. Like K of A, I rate Roy Hodgson. As for who will win I haven't a clue. I'll go for England!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
