hanging basket losing soil

I have a hanging wall basket next
To my front door fixed to the wall.
It was planted up last month
it kept losing soil shortly after kept putting
Back in at the top.
Everytime I went out there was more soil on the
pavement .
It has no plastic sheet just lots of moss and soil
The flowers are doing well .
I've finally found out why it keeps losing
Soil.

But you have stoked curiosity, why is it losing soil in your case?

A wren has tunnelled a hole in the bottom of it and now
Nesting in it.
Think I'd better stop watering it.
