  • Bingo wings

I have noticed this year that with all the hard work down at the allotment my arms (and legs) are getting quite muscular (for a not so young woman)

Decent biceps but how can I get rid of the bingo wings, preferably by doing something constructive.

I can't be doing with a gym, all that effort no actual productive result. You'd think they would connect all the cycles and other machines to electricity generators.

I've a feeling this thread is soon going to be wayward, so I'm going to jump in with sensible requested advice before it all goes awry just after wine o'clock:

Sorry to say, there is no such thing as spot reduction with regards to losing bingo wings.

Will be a case of full body fat drop via diet.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Oh I lie. There's liposuction. But that's the only other way.

Sadly this won't be massively beneficial. The amount of muscle mass a natural female can produce is quite low. (EDIT - yes women can build a large amount of muscle compared to "normal" but the weights used will be more than a few bottles of water....and more than your average male to boot lol)

Also note that the hormonal levels actually have a massive effect on where people store body mass. Most men often hold around lower back, women butt, hips, breasts , latissimus and arms.

This is beside the point tho.

              Tricky one!

There's the issue of muscle tone, skin elasticity, and of course there's .... errmmm .... calorific storage

              How about duct tape?

I had to goggle images of Bingo wings - I thought it was something from the Chinese takeaway

I think I'll go with duct tape. I'm not overweight; since I've taken over most of the heavy work from my hubby in the last 18 months (due to illness) all the raking, digging, hoeing, weeding etc,etc required for 2 allotments has slowly dropped me 2 dress sizes and turned fat to muscle (back to a size 12). Unfortunately I can't turn back time as well.

I weight trained during my 20s & 30s, and I still seem to retain good muscle tone underneath the middle aged lardiness on triceps and thighs.
I can tone up my triceps pretty quickly with those exercises in my link above, using a 1 kg dumbell, and swapping chocky for salad

                      More digging, wheelbarrowing, weeding etc.
                      Wear longer sleeves.

I would sooner go dig, or trundle around with a full wheelbarrow, to get a good work out. Can't be doing with going to a gym. Plus, the plot helped mama h post surgery.

I didn't think Bingowings were loss of muscle, just empty skin!if you must exercise, try this:
Hold arms out straight to sides, raising two potato sacks, twenty times.
                            Increase number daily.
After three weeks, put a potato in each one.

I do the hold onto the chair/settee and lower bum to floor and raise up. I was rubbish at first and could manage about 3 before I collapsed or a dog scooby-doo licked me in the face and put me off! I'm up to about 20-25 now and there is definitely a marked improvement as my OH noticed - without his glasses on too! So I'd definitely recommend it!!!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...
