I wonder if that photo is misleading and it's the other way up??
Have a close look again and you can see something is attached to the outside/ back left of the tray (there is the inside thread of a bolt!)

Right, an update..........Firstly, one of you is spot on but I'm not saying who just yet..........
Ok, Mk1 (the one in the pic), due to it being plastic, it imploded due to pressure & the legs buckled........I know that feeling......
However, Mk2 is made out of glass & is currently in situ (looking good IMO). Just waiting for the persistence to stop & I'll take a pic & put you out of your miseries..............
