            Sorry to hear that Greenleaves.

I read somewhere, gardeners should have hinges on their back and knees.
Kope you will be " back" to normal again soon.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

I think the worse part laying wide awake in the middle of the night, trying so hard not to let your mind run away with its self and getting angry trying to stop thinking, then all you do is think about not thinking. • 2 extraordinarily frustrating calls to utility companies this morning.

No 1 to Thames Water who I reported a leak to more than a fortnight ago. They left me a card saying it would be fixed within 7 days but as it was regarded as an emergency probably sooner. No one has turned up, but at about 8.30 am I heard the sound of the pavement opposite being dug up. Thames Water fixing a leak on the other side of the road. I rang them and asked when mine was going to be fixed but the chap on the phone couldn't get hold of the right dept. so he'd get them to ring me back. I won't hold my breath. We can't relay the path until it's done.

No 2 British Gas who I contacted a fortnight ago as I need a new meter and in a different place. They gave me a reference number. I rang them today and was kept on hold for 20 mins. When I finally spoke to a human who had an accent that I couldn't understand (tho a British one), I find out I have to talk to Wales & West Utilities. Why have BG got all the maintenance etc on their site if I have to talk to a different company. I was spoken to as if I should already know this. How? By some sort of telepathy or osmosis?

They must have been from Banbury, Chipping Norton or possibly Didcot - Lovely people, but I always struggle when trying to understand their accent.

                          • Illness - I know I am not meant to rant today but it has been one of those weeks and quite a few of you are suffering.

Entire family recovered from cold virus over a week ago. And for once when people say there is a lot going around it actually seems true.
Monday spent dealing with youngest having fever /24hr virus. Plus news of someone going into hospital due to heart attack. Wednesday spent with oldest with a fever that wasn't going. Trip to doctors. Thursday spent sorting urine samples, collecting prescriptions etc. Today back at doctors as she now has a rash. Also someone my Hubby works with went to hospital and ended up with tests being taken.

I feel for anyone with a virus or illness at the moment. Ruddy illness

Edit: I forgot to mention I woke up this morning clinging on to walls and an issue with depth perception and no I had not been having an early morning tipple....grrr!

                            • Useless BT.

I don't have a phone line with them as I found their overseas customer service abysmal years ago.

I now have phone and internet with a company with UK based customer service but they use BT phone lines.

I saw the BT van parked in the road putting in a 'phone line for a neighbour. I don't know if they got a phone but the useless **** managed to disconnect my 'phone. Fortunately I've still got the fibre broadband.
