  • Why do student groups always congregate in station door ways!

    • Hearing on the news that people in care homes are being abused. How can people do it???? I am a carer and I'd never would abuse anyone. I'd treat them with the care and respect because that's how I would like to be cared for if I was in there position.

Winds me up when I hear bad news about carers in care homes

          • Where do I start. Total Victor M. moment coming up

            1. OH complaining of a bad back and bad guts. Oh dear if you hadn't of drunk 4 of those large bottles of beer rather quickly last night might have some sympathy with you, no come to think of it none of all. We are a bit skint and you still manage to buy your beer.
            2. Valentines Day. I am not paying stupid prices for a card. Saw one at £5 at Tes*o. Think I will make my own.
            3. Kids school want them to make a daffodil picture/model/drawing etc to start their new topic of spring. Han is doing my tree in already. She has to draw her ideas in a special book now as part of her home work. So I am going to end up making models next week and a picture with Will.
            4. Nits at school again. Enough said.
            5. Life in general at the moment.
            6. Wallowing in self pity and finding out that the plot holder next to me, that her husband has died very suddenly. Suddenly realising that crappy things worse than my problems happen to others to and really I should just suck it up.

Thank you for letting me have my moment. I feel better now and am going to go print out some daffodil picture.

            • Sitting in a bar chatting to a friend and a large group of people come in one of whom starts making a speech. Myself and friend carry on talking and are told to stop out of common courtesy. We aren't part of the group, we aren't interested in the speech, we aren't being loud or obnoxious. We leave bar.

              • You have my sympathy nvg. I've been on a downer again this week. To be fair, we've been on an 'up' for a long while, so I was expecting it, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. Luckily, as you say, there's always someone worse-off, which is good for dragging you back up again. I hope your plot Neighbour is OK.

My rant has now completely escaped me, so I'm just gonna moan about my crappy memory again.

                • Just having a mini rant in advance. I just know that my husband will once again forget that 14th Feb has any significance.

                  • It's just another over-commercialised day, matey. Don't worry about it. It really isn't important. We don't buy cards, flowers, chocs or anything. For birthdays, christmad or valentine. I love him, he loves me (Nutter!), that's what's important.

A very very good chum got a very expensive pair of earrings from her estranged Hubby at Christmad. She thought it weird to get anything from the bleep. Then she discovered he'd bought the matching necklace for his girlfriend. You can guess where she shoved the earrings when she next saw him!!

My rant? I bit my tongue earlier, and it now has a very sore lump on it. Oooooowwwwww!

                    • The whole over commercialised rubbish that is Valentine's Day. There is nothing romantic about the media telling people to buy rubbish and I do not have any interest in going to an overcrowded restaurant to eat some contrived menu. We can have a special day whenever we want to not on what I think is the most UNromantic day of the year.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                        • I'm perfectly happy with my existing minigreenhouse - however, a replacement cover of a size to fit existing: £10.99
Entire minigreenhouse of a similar size from W1lko: £10

Edit: Hmm - perhaps this should be on the happy thread

I totally agree Alison, the OH and I have not bothered since way back when. I love my wife everyday not just on the 14 Feb.
