Anyhow whats wrong with supermarket veg? At this rate that will be what we eat as of Aug.
Chit some more and shove them in? Or follow with your leeks if it will become your allium bed?

    Or green manure it?

    • After 20 years isn't it about time you choose some different tunes to play on that guitar? You are driving me nuts!

              • Well, that's the thanks I get!

I left the lame pooch at home today, thinking a couple of hours of uninterrupted sleep would help her heal. She pulled a shoulder at the weekend, and has been very sore, but won't rest it.

What greeted me when I opened the back door, was more than a little unpleasant. Three lots. Very wet, and I still haven't got rid of the smell, despite bleaching the floor and leaving the door open for an hour.

I guess she was more stressed being left on her own.

                • Bicarb sprinkled onto the 'sites', rubbed in a bit then hoovered up can help get rid of pongy smells.

                  • Green Manure! Not using it again, sowed some in the raised bed I usually use for salady stuff, it grew well, I chopped it down, then dug it over, now it's growing again! Now I've covered it in black weed membrane, it's just too hard work for me. Let's hope the black fabric helps.

                            • Oh and why is it when I put winter green veg like kale in the runs for the ducks to eat they won't touch it. Yet when they are wandering around the garden and there are cuttings/plants they strip them to within millimetres of their lives
