being forced to go on a training course which is at least a 2 hour drive away(on a good day) and only because its a tick box exercise to say I've done x-hours training, also very insulting as its a course designed to show new technicians I've been doing the blimmin job for 13 years, and the H&S part doesn't even touch the qualifications that I've already got grrrrrrrrrrrrr..........................

More of a muse than a rant but I've just watched a woman walk up the corridor wearing what can only be described as "F*** me" shoes. They're leopard print with at least 5 inch heels and look almost as high as her feet are long. She's walking so slowly and carefully you'd think she'd had an "embarrassing accident".
This is a relaxed office environment so why would you wear something like that to work? She can barely walk and they don't look right with her "safe" black skirt suit.
Just puzzled, that's all.

Went to sit in my new shed with a friend and a chilled bottle of vino and found that next doors gardener had chucked the prunings over the fence into my garden. Now I know my garden is currently a blank canvas but I really don't want to pay someone to remove the neighbours debris having just paid to have said garden cleared."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

I have lost my mojo Was fine in Tuesday by seems to of gone over the past day.
My dad got called in early to the hospital today to see the specialist. He has to go back in three months to be re tested and see what the specialist thinks.
The seeds I have planted are either going leggy on me or can't be asked to even grow.
Kids are determined to wind me up and if the OH mentions his railway track and his layout once more I will really loose my sense of humour.sigpic

This probably shouldn't be here cos it was a major rant not a minor but here goes.
Other half got his friend to cut our grass yesterday, the lad did a cracking job, moved all my fruit pots out the way and back again and so on. After he was done I asked my other half to empty out last years potato bags on to the heap of cut grass and throw away the old bags. Today when I got home from work I realised what he had done, only tipped out this years potatoes that I planted a few weeks ago!!! Two saving graces are that he didn't throw the bags away (the new bags, or old either!!) and that I only had 3 potatoes in 3 bags. I have managed to rescue the seed potatoes but now I don't know which ones are which, 3 different varieties
Angry was not the right wordRemember it's just a bad day, not a bad life 😁

It's not often I have a rant but it's a triple wammy today. I'm so glad they only come in 3's.
1. The spool cover on the strimmer has been blitzed to pieces, that's what I get for strimming over chippings..................anyways, I think I've solved it by fitting a metal collar over the original cover.
2. 25lts of Roof Bitumen arrived...............I thought the packaging was a tad OTT then I found out why, I removed the bodged up cardbox box, that was ok, then a 3" layer of bubblewrap surrounded the tin..............so I sets to removing the bubblewrap to find the tin was dented to hell, the lid was battered & resealed with clingfilm. To cap it off, the contents had leaked onto the bubblewrap & I got it on my jumper.....Nobody told me to wear a boiler suit to unwrap the bladdy box.........
3. Went to Dentist today for 4 fillings..............came home with no face on, after a few hours I was back to norm so had a bowl a soup.........was sipping away on the soup when one of the bladdy fillings fell out..........
You can stop laughing now.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Edit from me, sorry this is not nice. I just get furious because people will never believe their nice, even perfectly behaved dog will do this but they are all capable. I know because I had one. It's on the rant because I am not suggesting anyone on here would be so irresponsible.Last edited by marchogaeth; 25-04-2015, 09:46 AM. Reason: Adding WARNING from Mod and sorry from me."A life lived in fear is a life half lived."
PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

Unfortunately it's not the law to have your dog on a lead in public places. My rant is also irresponsible dogs owners...haven't looked at the link above but can imagine! Our dogs are always on a lead and have been attacked by others running loose...the owners excuse? Oh they only want to play...what while ripping my dogs to pieces? Next time it could be a child! I would sign any petition which says that dogs should be on a lead at all times while in public if there was one.
And just to add one more thing...why are kids ring fenced in play parks to keep dogs away from them. I understand the need for dogs to have a good run around but why don't we do as they do in America and have a section of parks etc fenced of as dog parks and they can run around to their hearts content without bothering other park users?Last edited by Jay22; 25-04-2015, 11:33 AM.sigpic

Went to the allotment to move part of a raised bed. It was just one small front board and a side board. The bed was full of weeds mainly nettles and buttercups and is covered by ivy and brambles. I am just going to dig it out, cut the bushes back and put pots on it.
My rant is the first three support posts were only a few inches in the soil if that and I smashed them out with a mallet hammer. The fourth was a two and a half foot post that they'd buried. I ended up having to dig the flipping thing out. Why on earth they used a post that length is beyond me.sigpic
