I don't know how I missed this thread before (too busy with the wedding planning probably), but I've just had a good old laugh thanks to you lot!
And... I had a quick dig in my ear with the cat on my lap (purely in the name of science you understand!) to test the earwax theory. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on how you look on it) I was unable to 'get' anything substantial, but it must've scented my finger nail as my fluff ball repeatedly headbutted my hand when I showed her!
