  • Dinner last night!

My wife took bell peppers, okra, tomatoes, scallions, and slices of andouille sausages and made a wonderful dish. Fortunately it was a bit too spicy for everyone but me because of the type of andouille she used. They ate some but not much. I had 2 large servings. It was wonderful.

There were leftovers. Guess what I'm having tonight!

Crikey - how did you get a Breton sausage in Iowa?!!! They come from where I live in France! Tell me - I'm fascinated! Sure it wasn't an andouillette? I think they can sometimes be a little spicy but there are 2 types of andouille that I know of and neither are spicy. Is it a Louisiana thing?

Phew! the andouillette that Patch is talking about is disgusting - a sort of tripe sausage that smells awful. The locals seem to love it but, for the life of me, I can't think why.

Got intrigued and goggled this as I love french sausages! The andouillette look awful!

Interested to find "andouille" is also used to insult someone by inferring they are an imbecile!!!
The proof of the growing is in the eating.

Yes, but it's not a "bad" insult! There are far worse. Monsieur P loves an andouillette. I can't eat it, but that said I love andouille (here it's mostly eaten cold in thin slices with a glass of something nice) and that's nasty things too. Intestins! eeeewwwwww. But it's so good. I just don't look closely when I eat it hahaha.
