  • What are whiskers??

Totally off the subject of gardening but you lot are very knowledgeable

We had a meeting today about the building we're in at work as we're currently occupying our Distaster Recovery site as work is being done on our normal building.

Anyway... last time we asked for some things to be added but they came back today so say we couldn't have them because it would mean ripiing up flooring. Not too much both for a large company you might say, BUT....

Apparently the building was built such that there are 'whiskers' under the floor tiles and if they were pulled up, they can 'get into the PCs and blow them up'.

One very confused, Shortie stood there with a very blank expression.

Can anyone tell me what they were going on about?

Could it relate to asbestos perhaps?

Some floortiles had an asbestos content, as did some concretes?

Other than that the only other thing I can think of is some form of fibrous insulation.
