Kudos to that man, I'm not sure there would be too many people who would do that for a dog.

Have to say thought, the video was painful. Far too slow and the music just annoyed me.

My husband got into a waste deep river in our town a few years back to rescue a little dog. It was mid winter. He carried it to the steps and it promptly dashed off down the street, we never saw it again! It seemed just a tad ungrateful!!

Your husband is a star Verinda, even if the wee dog didn't hang around to show it's gratitude.

I remember watching a tv news article a while back about this subject and the amount of people who just stood there and 'oohed and aahed' instead of actually doing something was amazing (to me at least).

I can't imagine not trying to help.

Yes there was a lot of people staring at the little dog but no one was doing anything. And no one acknowledged my husbands efforts as he soggily climbed up the steps! He felt a bit disgruntled with them!

That's the Great British public for you I'm afraid. (By and large.) A 'well done' wouldn't have cost much would it?

Never mind, he's clearly a very nice bloke and I'd rather he was on my side than 10 of the other bystanders.

It was the great Irish public I'm afraid and the attitude was, 'shows over' and they just wandered off!!

Yes he is nice, thank you. I told him that he'd received a few congratulations and he reminded me that it was the second small dog he'd rescued! About 18 years ago he was working as gardener at a big manor house and he spotted a little dog that had trotted over the ice on the lake and fallen through a thin bit. He went and got a long builders ladder and some rope, crawled along the ladder and lassoed the dog by the neck and dragged it out of the water! The little dog was frozen but soon recovered and dashed off!

Oh heck, you do know things come in threes don't you? He'll have a 3rd to rescue at some point too.
