I call my kettle 'the mandrake' (from Harry Potter) as it has a whistle that kills our, and the cats ears!!!!

By the way I HATE our cordless kettle, and it's a surprise that the thing hasn't flown across the kitchen yet!!!

At home its a cordless electric but on the plot its a shiny new hob kettle with a whistle that attracts people from several plots away in the hope of a cuppa.

No difference here, cordless. I'm like the majority of people. It's convenient. But we do keep a hob kettle handy to put on the gas for when there's a leccy cut.

When I was newly married (many years ago) I had a hob kettle. I would put the kettle on and while waiting for it to boil get many liitle jobs done.
Then I got an electric kettle - and how I hated it. No sooner on than boiling and no time to do anything. Took a while to get used to.
Now in that respect I'm a modern girl. I like - flick the switch, job done.
But I do like an open fire and much prefer that to flick the switch - as long as I have my central heating too.

Electric cordless here. Used to have a whistler for on the gas cooker but Madmax used to throw the whistle away because it annoyed him then he would burn the bottom out of the kettle because he forgot he had put it on to boil!

I have an electric/cordless at home, but on the lottie I have a whistling kettle/gas stove. Have to agree that tea tastes better made with the stove.
