Keeping it clean (ish!!!) how did you all meet your partner?

Me! Just finished with a girl I was engaged to, sold house, bit messy. Went to a night club and saw this lovely blonde. We started going out together. People said I was only going with her on the rebound. 34 years, four children and one grandson later, I guess I must still be on the rebound!

I met Mr OWG on a sort-of blind date!

We were the only ones of our respective friend groups who were single, so got pushed together on a night out, as everyone else was all coupled up.

2 weeks later we were engaged, 3 months later we moved in together, but it took us 4 years to get married!

We've been together 9 years now (married for 5 of those), and all the other couples who were together when we met have long since split up!

Fiance took me to a new pub with some new friends in Jan 1990. Met a really interesting bloke. Split with the fiance, went out with Madmax, by the August we were married. January 1991 had our first son..... My mum said on our wedding day that she would give it six months - WRONG mum!

Walked into a school for my first day of teaching after leaving College. Child said "Are you the new teacher's boy friend?"
"No!" says I "I am the other new teacher."
Walked into the staff room and met a tall, dark haired gorgeous female. Worked very hard to get her to go out with me (She was almost engaged to a far better catch than me). So, met in Sept. Engaged in Jan and married in April. Hair is a bit less dark now, but she is still gorgeous and I am still not a good catch, 30bloobah years on.

Went along to a charity help doo, and met Mr D on May Day 2000, I was with a group of friends laughing and joking, and he came back with such a whitty remark (that neither of us can now remember) that the thought just came to me 'He'll do for me!' Not that I meant it in a getting married way, just I thought him a very cool guy, but he wasnt my type as he's 6" shorter than me and I've always had a complex about my height, always said I'd never date a guy shorter than myself! But found ourselves working together for the charity on a voluntary basis, and getting closer, even tho we were both dating other folks!

We actually started going out on 29th August, I moved in with him 3 days later, he proposed 6 weeks later and we were married 10 das after that on Halloween! Everyone said it wouldnt last, and that he was only after me for my money (which I didnt have, as I'd just had my first house repossessed, and Lee took me on with quite large debts at the time), but we've had the last laugh, together for 7yrs and still not even so much as an argument!

Well theres a thing to ask

I met Mrs G on a blind date. I used to go out with her mate (carolyn) and when we split she (carolyn) went out with my mate. It was xmas eve 1984 and carolyn said she and Dale would be down the pub later but she was going to see here friend 1st. I said bring her along as well and she did.

we chatted, I took her home ( to sutton Coldfield 25 miles away !) and phoned her the next day to wish her merry xmas and asked her if she wanted to stay the night and we could go to Belle Vue to the stock car racing (see I know how to show a woman a good time).

we got back from Manchester boxing day evening went for a bite to eat and I asked her if she fancied getting married ....... which we duly did July 6th 1985 !!!!

No point in buggering about is there, I mean, where would she find another like me

Bubblewrap and I used to be members of the local Labour Club, so I'd known him some time before he married Lynda, a friend of mine. My son and I went to their wedding and wished them every happiness.
Unfortunately, some years later, my marriage broke up and a few years after that Lynda became ill and died.
He rang me to let me know and I went to her funeral.
Then next week I went to see him, and knew that I just couldn't leave him on his own, so visited on regular basis to help him grieve.

Three months later, after he came back from taking her ashes out to Crete, he rang me at 7am after getting off the plane and invited me to dinner.
I went and we became an item.
12 months later we were married. I wouldn't be without him.

A Works Christmas party....not my companys I just turned up....end up flat on floor.
I blame a wet floor (she says I was the drunkest thing she had ever seen and her dad had a pub so she must know).
As no one knew who I was even me! She gave her details as next of kin to the ambulance....aar.

They gave it to me the next day in the hospital and I had to phone her to see if she knew where I lived.

20 years later one son, two cats later we are still togather.

Wife and I both worked for a district council, she on the ground floor in Housing benefits, me on the second floor in IT.
I had to keep asking her to move so I could get to a particular bit of networking kit and one day down in her office we got chatting.
The next morning I asked her out, that was August 1989, next October we were married, three years later our son arrived and two years later our daughter.

How glad to see we are quite normal! Both families knew each other, had crush on OH for ages, cartwheels etc in front of him but he didn't notice me. Had a sports car, leather jacket, so I expected there was a string of girls. So ....... I asked him out and two months later we were engaged and married 10 months later. And no there were no other girls, just a sailing boat.

Yes like you all, everyone said it was all too quick but 31 years later we are still very happy. And we still have a boat! She is known as the "other woman".

Do you keep a list of the birhtdays so you can turn up to clean the "fnugal filters" just when they are putting out the cakes....or is this just pecular to the Offices I have worked in.

I met my t'other half on Friends Reunited dating in October 06. He had a pic of him skiing and his profile said he liked petite girls with a pretty smile blah blah blah.. but he lived over 150 miles away so I sent him a message saying he had just described me perfectly and if he fancied he could ski down Roseberry Topping (a local hill of sorts) to see me. We got chatting from there and now were living together.... Life is peachy
Erm.... I cant think of a signature
