I was running a hotel bar near Chester 8 years ago, OH stayed in the hotel quite a few times while on business, we got to know each other, I left the hotel, got a Mon-Fri job, and we started spending weekends driving up and down the M6 to spend time together. Eventually got fed up with the driving (and the cost of petrol!) and not being able to spend our weekdays together so I left the area I'd lived all my life and moved in with him 18 months ago. We both have failed marriages in our past so aren't in a hurry to go down that route but are soooo happy as we are, the move was the best thing I've ever done! Just wish we'd done it sooner and saved a few of those motorway miles along the way!

The best bits though is that we share the same birthday and both really enjoy gardening and growing our own.
OK Piglet thats the love of you life but what about Kaz

Nobody has ever treated me and my girl as well as he does, I wouldnt be without him.

Went into the chaplaincy coffee bar at Uni one day, sat with my mates, looked up and saw this new bloke there at "our" table. Thought, "Ooooh, who's that!!!"
Anyway, I was going out with someone else and so was he. Took three years of us both thinking "no we're just mates" before we admitted it was more than that. I still remember - it was pouring with rain and we went for a walk by the river and got utterly soaked. It was glorious! He moved into my flat about a week later.
Both sets of parents disapproved on the grounds of religion and money - which is a giggle as we had neither. Took us 5 years to get round to marriage though as we didn't want a huge family gathering since both mum-in-laws have been such a pain in the butt.
Been happy together for 14 years (I think, who's counting?)You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.

Met Maggie about thirteen years ago in my local in London where she used to go with her boyfriend and their mates. My crowd and hers all sort of fell in together and used to meet up once or twice a week, go to parties etc.
Fancied her from moment I saw her, (she says the same about me but think she just says that to make me feel good) but as usual she was with someone else at the time, though we did have a short fling on the QT.
She split with her boyfriend and we got together but two weeks later, she moved back to Belfast for about 6 months to look after her seriously ill mother. We wrote or spoke every day and when her mum died she moved back and straight into my flat, been together ever since. Left London when she fell pregnant with Iona, moved to Inverness and to current house 5 years ago.
Had our share of difficulties too, but we've struggled on and it just seems to be getting better all the time - even if she from a family of Celtic supporters and I of course am a dyed in the wool bluenose.Rat

I've known my OH for 19 years. I got divorced from the marriage grom hell in '88 and began going out drinking (as you do at first) with two mates from work who are brothers. I had my son at weekends and so I could get out at weekends I joined the same working men's club they went in. That's where I first saw their sister and liked the look of her; plus we got on really well; she went in on Sunday's when I was alone; trouble was she was married. I had a few failed relationships over the next few years and sort of gave up and went solo for 6 years, but we saw each other on a friends basis over the years; never thinking anything more serious. Then in May,1999, her husband died suddenly. New Years Eve her brother has a barbie(I kid you not), to which we both go seperately and leave the same way; my son dragged me home; her kids did the same with her. Next weekend another party and we meet up again; next day phone her and the day after. The rest as they say is history; gave up my house and moved in with her; bought house together, got married, sold house and moved to Skeg and couldn't be happier.Live each day as if it was your last because one day it will be

Met my hubby whe n I was 17 and going to my first dance with my best friend. She was going out with Jim and he brought my future hubby along. We've been together over 40 years and still love each other to bits.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Met Steve in May '99 when I went to work at one of my then job's other sites. Him. his dad and brother were there on the same day and I was invited to join them in the canteen. Went on holiday to Isle of Man a few days later and when I got back to work started seeing Steve around the place. Chatted, flirted, you know the drill. When I met him, he had only just split from his missus (literally that week) so we were just mates till September when he asked when we were going to have a drink and I said 'tonight'. Duly met up and had drink, when we left the pub we sat in his car for a couple of hours, talking
Went on another date a couple of weeks later, he's the only bloke my dad has EVER liked. 5 months later found that a nipper was on the way (my little surprise), Lauren born 2000, moved in with him 2001. Had ups and downs, had to get used to his boys and they had to get used to me which was trying at times. Planning to get hitched 2009 when we celebrate 10 yrs.
He drives me round the bleedin bend and I wouldn't have it any other wayKirsty b xx
