I'd say that a very high percentage of those aren't active and in many cases never were. I remember looking once and there was a phenomenal number of people who had signed up but never posted so not really members as such. Would be interesting to know how many people log on at least once a month, even if they don't post. Clearly thus would be far lower than 60,000.
That's the bit I have least interest in, it's the gardening stuff I come for
The monthly stats can be quite easily checked. Personally I wouldn't like 60,000 replies to each thread!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
By anyone? (i've not seen it anywhere that I have checked, so wondering if it is for Admin only, or if I haven't looked in the right place!)
The normal figure for "currently viewing guests", on the home page, seems widely optimistic, and I suspect it includes search engine spiders which don't usually drop cookies and as such every page they view (presumably hundreds/hour) will look like a different Guest.
It would be nice if a few more of those 60,000 members voted for the virtual show entries this week. Best number of voters in any category only 41 so far.
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
Pumpkin pi.

I'm with you 100%. A few more voters would be nice.
somehow I managed to miss page 2 of the thread twice must be Sunday
Dunno if it would make any difference, but I prefer to have less paging so have set my preferences to the maximum message-per-page (40). I'm only seeing one page here currently, so I am guessing yours is set to less than that.

It depends on your interests, I'm not competitive and hate the thought of best in show type things at lotties and am really pleased we don't have anything like that where I garden. I know it's at a more fun level on here but I don't like being judged so don't enter and therefore obviously shouldn't do it to others. How many people entered? 41 seems pretty good to me.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Alison..we have people who used to post years ago who still visit fairly regularly....you'd remember them well, but for some reason don't post!
Always puts a smile on my face when their names appear!
Sometimes I pm them to say how do , and get lovely replies.
...and if any of you are reading this....hi there!
I agree that old "faces" is nice, I'm talking about people that joined a few years ago and never posted or visited again. A quick look at the members list shows that 40% of members have never posted and a great majority are only in single numbers. Not that there is anything the matter with this, just that we don't really have anything like the membership figures quoted .

Where are he monthly figures, can work out overall ones from the members list but not seen any stats.
