Aww, thanks folks for the lovely birthday wishes. Also thanks, norfolkgrey, for starting the thread and sending me caaaaaaake! Ditto Nicos and VC. YUM.
Having a lovely if rainy time in Kirkcudbright. And yes, I can confirm that more caaaaaaake (of a Scottish nature) HAS been involved. Also we visited a kite feeding station earlier and saw close on 100 red kites swooping and diving for their food a few feet in front of us. As a birthday treat it could not be topped!Comment

A lovely evening in the next village seeing a trad jazz band who were excellent. The owner of our b&b, Shirley, gave us a lift there and back so's we could have a drink. So kind! It has been a smashing birthday nite, very memorable, including a raffle with an unbelievable number (and variety) of prizes. Errrm quite glad I didn't win anything....
