The car isn't worth the cost of replacing the key and I was going to buy a new one in the spring, so a mechanic friend is going to dismantle the ignition and put in a temporary one so that I can drive it.
A solution of sorts. I should have ensured I had the security details when I bought the car 7 years ago. A previous car had a security problem with the radio where it couldn't be used without a pass code which had been changed from the factory code by the previous owner but hadn't passed it on when selling it.Last edited by bearded bloke; 06-11-2014, 09:45 PM.
