I have a fairy on my tree. She is 74 years old this year, she was my Mum's tree topper from her first married Christmas. There has never been any suggestion over the years that she may be an angel, so having a fairy on the tree is not a new thing.

She lost her original wand years ago, and her original dress with wings attached, but she still wears her own bloomers under her new frock.

I've always had a fairy (if you remember, she flies down at night and does a bit of my youngest GG's knitting) as a family tradition from my mum. The angel was always in the crib at the bottom of the tree. I broke with tradition one year and had a star that I made myself in true Blue Peter style with a wire coat hanger.
