    So I read this recently:
Deadly British corn-cockle plant thought to be extinct found by lighthouse | Daily Mail Online

And it's saying that it's just been found for the first time in years. But I had this in my garden at my old house between 2004-2006.

Where would we be without the Daily Wail?
That story says "warned curious members of the public to neither pick up nor touch the 'very rare' flower, due to the noxious poison and toxins that it contains. "
Then there's a photo of someone holding the flower

    Another thread about this

You're not alone , a woman in Long Sutton who saw the story when it was published in July and realised she had it too and concluded ‘I must get rid of it’.

Corncockle is mildly poisonous not, as the Daily Mail bills it, "A British flower containing a lethal poison which can lead to serious illness or even death"

I just get angry reading that (and other similar papers), they get far too much pleasure out of scare stories and should know better.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

So it's basically just poisonous like dozens if others. Grief. It's not even rare then as it's obviously in wild seed mixes etc, which is probably where I got mine from.

Still, to be fair, the daily fail is good for composting...
