I took a trip to the Gardeners Rest with the car, trailer and gardening tools today. Oh how neglected the old place looked. I had a peak in through the arched window on the gable but couldn't see much for cobwebs. Ahh well, the cleaners will be in soon but I set to with my strimmer and slashed the years growth of grass off the lawns and carted the cuttings to the compost heap at the rear. That will rot down nicely before opening day. I then took my backpack blower and blasted the leaves which had gathered in the corners clear of the borders and gave them a fork up ready for planting the winter bedding. The outside paintwork will need attention, the gutters need clearing and the windows need a good wash and polish. Other than that, the old place seems to have survived the year very well but we need to draw up a rota to get the work done so volunteers needed please. I've done my bit
now where can I get a pint of the black stuff.
